What's the difference between "cologne" and "perfume"? Can I say "cheap cologne" instead?

The difference between these actually relates to the percentage of essential oils in the fragrances. Perfumes (parfums) have a high percentage, so the scents are stronger and more long-lasting. Colognes have a lower percentage, so they are less long-lasting and also cheaper in price. “Cheap cologne/perfume” specifically refers to fragrances that are poor in quality or price, so you must use it accordingly. Ex: One of my coworkers wears cheap cologne, so I always get a headache when he’s nearby. Ex: I recently bought a perfume from France. It smells amazing.
