"Too" in this case means also, as well, or additionally. It is possible to place "too" in a different place in this sentence. You can put "too" at the end of a sentence, so in this case that would be "we have been staying home too". The only difference in the placement is the emphasis in the sentence. When "too" is placed after a pronoun(we), it emphasizes that this particular person does something as well. When "too" is at the end of the sentence, the subject is not emphasized as strongly. Ex: I would like some water too. Ex: We too have experienced robbery.
