Is "block" verb here? What does it mean?
Great question. Americans use the term "block" as a reference of distance, due to the fact that most cities are built in a grid design. It refers to a square, rectangular or irregularly shaped area surrounded by streets. When it is used to describe distance it usually means the distance between two streets. Ex: I live 2 blocks from here. Ex: Are we going to walk around the whole block? Ex: How many blocks between here and the park?
