These two words essentially have the same meaning! However, "due date" is often used more when referring to things like school work, paying bills, and things like giving birth. "Deadline" is more common for formal or business settings. Ex: When is the due date of your baby? Ex: The due date for my homework is next week. Ex: I have deadlines for work that I'm rushing to complete.
