"Gone out" in this context refers to going out on a date, such going to a restaurant, the movies, etc. "Go out" in the same type of context would have the same meaning. Ex: My boyfriend and I go out every Saturday night. "A bunch of" simply means "many" or "a lot of". Ex: I bought a bunch of new clothes today.
