Meant literally, a “doorstep” refers to the elevated step before one’s door that separate one’s house or home from the outside. It represents its literal meaning! Meanwhile, an entrance (or entranceway) is simply the area that one passes through to enter a room or space, and this can apply to both entrances outside of a home or inside it. Ex: We have a wide entranceway leading into our kitchen. Ex: There are some packages on our doorstep.
