Can I say "Smallville" instead of "small town"?

“Smallville” and “small town” are not synonyms. “Smallville” is a proper noun, the name of a fictional town (and TV show) that aptly describes the type of place it is. However, it is not a synonym. You would have to use “small town” here. Ex: I’m just a small town girl, so I felt quite lost in the big city. Ex: He’s a small town boy that somehow became an international superstar.
