"Look in" can mean "look at" or "look inside (of something)", depending on the context. Ex: I look in my mirror while putting on makeup. Ex: Look in the fridge to see what food we have. "Look out" can mean "be careful" or "look out (of something)", depending on the context. Ex: Look out, you almost got hit by a car! Ex: I look out my window every night and watch the sunset.
