Native speaker’s answer

"A dime a dozen" is an idiomatic phrase used to describe things that are inexpensive, abundant, or very low in value. This expression comes from the early 1800s in the United States, where a whole dozen (or twelve) of certain products like eggs could be purchased for just a dime, which is worth only ten cents. Nowadays it no longer literally means that you can get twelve of something for ten cents, it just refers to something that is super common or easy to get. Ex: Fruit comes a dime a dozen here. Ex: Singers nowadays are a dime a dozen.
