student asking question

I'm more familiar with the expression "I studied "the major" in university", but does it mean the same when I say "I was "the major""? Could you tell me other expressions that I can use when introducing my major?

When talking about your major of study, you can say both "I'm a ___ major" or "I study ___", and both expressions have the exact same meaning. However, if you use "I study ___", it is common to specify where you study this so people understand that you are a university student. You can also say "I'm getting my degree in ___", "my major is___" or "I'm a ___ student". There are many different ways to introduce your major of study, but each of them have the same meaning. Ex: I'm an art major. Ex: I study art. Ex: I'm getting my degree in art. Ex: My major is art. Ex: I'm an art student at the university.
