"You don't say" is an informal expression that is used to express surprise. In the video, the woman says "oh, you don't say" to show her surprise. Nowadays, however, this expression is used more often in a sarcastic or humorous way to respond when someone states something that is obvious or already known. Ex: A: I got full marks on my math test! B: Oh, you don't say? Ex: A: He kept coming in late to class, no wonder he got suspended for a week. B: Wow, you don't say?
