"Live to" is usually used in combination with some phrase to show that someone is, or wants to be alive to see when something happens or to experience something. Usually, it is used to refer to big, impressive or shocking changes in the world. Ex: I never thought I'd live to see you get married. Ex: Maybe we will live to see flying cars.
