Who are the "Good Samaritans"?
"Good Samaritan" is originally a biblical term, meaning a helpful or charitable person. Now, it is used as a general phrase to describe any person who does helpful acts for others. In the case of the video, the "Good Samaritans" are the passersby that helped rescue the beached whales. Ex: A Good Samaritan helped me chase down the thief that stole my wallet. Ex: Some Good Samaritans donated Christmas presents to the young patients at the children's hospital.
