"Absolutely" is usually only used in special circumstances, because it expresses that you are sure about something without a doubt. It is used to express extreme enthusiasm or certainty. Thus, only when you want to make someone know that you are 100% certain about something should you use "absolutely". Ex: A: Are you sure you don't mind if I come over? B: Absolutely I don't! Ex: You are absolutely not going to drop out of school!
