To "be on the receiving end" of something means that you are affected by someone's actions and so you must suffer the consequences, which are usually unpleasant. This expression is similar to being a "victim". Ex: The bird nest was on the receiving end of the chopped down tree. Ex: I am on the receiving end of her bad attitude.
