Can I say "standing at a street" instead of "standing on a street"?

It would sound a little less natural to use the preposition "at" in relation to standing and say "standing at a street". This is because the preposition "on" is most commonly used with "standing". If you said "standing at a street", it would imply that you are at the end of the street and looking at it, while "standing on a street" implies that you are anywhere on the street.
