Does "romantic" mean "interesting" here? Is it common to use "romantic" in this meaning?
"Romantic" in this video is not meant to be understood in the love or relationship context. Steve Jobs means it more in the "idealistic" or "fairy-tale" sense. When he dropped out of school, he had an idealized image of what he pictured his life to be like after. This is why he used the word "romantic." Thus, we can see that "interesting" is not the right way to understand how "romantic" is used here. Ex: The life of a musician isn't as romantic as it seems. It can be very stressful sometimes. Ex: My view on life is very romantic, so I tend to live in the moment instead.
