"For some time now" is an idiom that means "for a long time" or "for a while". It is usually used when you want to say that something has been happening for a while, but you don't want to say or don't know exactly now long. Ex: I have been living in this house for some time now, so I am ready to move. Ex: My sister has been with her boyfriend for some time now, so I think they should get married.
