A "sailor" is someone who works on a boat or ship as. The term is slightly outdated and primarily used to refer to people whose career involves long periods of being on a sea or ocean vessel and whose direct responsibilities involve the vessel. The "crew" of a boat or ship is the collective staff of that vessel. A single member of the crew is called a "crew member". Ex: The crew of this ship includes many experienced sailors. Ex: The old and experienced sailor is one of our most important crew members.
