Why would they call the interior of an airplane a "cabin"? Doesn't "cabin" means a hut?

A "cabin" does have the same meaning as a "hut" or "house". However, it also means a room on a ship or airplane. The part of the plane where passengers sit is called the "cabin". I'd say the only link they have is they are both considered rooms and spaces for people! Ex: Remember to bring all your belongings from the cabin of the aircraft! Ex: The cabin in this plane is smaller than the plane I flew on previously. Ex: I'd like to stay in a cabin in the woods one day.
