Is it okay to use "worth" toward human? Doesn't it sound rude?

Yes, in some cases, it could be considered rude! However, when it's directed towards people, it's usually said when that person is being petty or mean. If you respond or react to them you'll be "lowered" to their level or way of thinking. So they're not "worth" engaging with. It would be considered rude if someone mean says this or if it was done with poor reasoning. Ex: Someone keeps leaving rude comments on my social media account. But they're not worth responding to. Ex: Julie, you know he's not worth it after all the horrible things he put you through. You should break up! Ex: Ryan, you're not worth my time. Get out of my way. => rude.
