In terms of superlatives, "latest" refers to the most recent. "Newest" is more often used to mean something that has been most recently created, built, or manufactured. Thus, "latest" is more appropriate in the context of hunting (as hunted meat isn't really "produced" or "manufactured"). However, there isn't a very significant difference between the two words. Ex: I want to buy the latest iPhone that came out. Ex: This is the newest version of our computer program.
