"Come down with" means to start to get symptoms or feel sick from a specific sickness or illness. You can use it when you start to feel symptoms or want to say that someone else recently got sick. It's very common to use! Ex: Jen came down with the flu last week, so she'll join us next week. Ex: I'm starting to come down with something. My throat is sore.
