The main difference between digits and numbers is that a digit is a single numerical symbol (1, 2, 3, etc.) whereas a number is one or more digits (7, 10, 85). If a number is 305, it means it has 3 digits (3 spaces occupied by a single number). Ex: In my country, phone numbers are usually 10 digits long. Ex: My favorite number is 19.
