If I say "I don't do any better" instead of "I better not do", does it still make sense?

No. These two phrases have different meanings. "I don't do any better" is a way of saying that you can't do a task better than someone else. Keep in mind this is grammatically incorrect. It's better to say, "I won't do any better." Ex: I won't do any better than you will. Ex: She won't do any better than her. She hasn't had much training. "I better not do" means you know you shouldn't do something. Ex: I better not try skiing. I'm accident-prone. Ex: You better not. That's extremely dangerous.
