From what I understand, "right nudge" in this context refers to something happening that puts someone on the right path or direction in life when they were doing terrible things. To give someone a "nudge" metaphorically means to encourage someone to do something, or push them in a specific direction. Ex: We have to nudge the customers to buy our new product! Ex: My friend nudged me to go out with Ann this weekend. Ex: Kerry couldn't decide which college to go to. I nudged her to choose my old college.
