BFD is an acronym for "big fucking deal." This isn't a common acronym! I assume they did it to try and make it more family-friendly and to avoid saying the swear words out loud, but it's also funny! It basically means, why's it so important, or what's so special about it? Ex: So, I missed my appointment. What's the big deal? I'll book another one. Ex: The missing laptop was a BFD at the company. => uncommon = The missing laptop was a big [fucking] deal at the company.
