What's the main difference between "roast" and "barbecue?"

The methods of cooking are different! A "roast" is usually meat you cook in an oven, whereas a "barbecue" is where you grill meat outside. Ex: We like to have a nice Sunday roast around the dining room table. Ex: Nothing beats a good barbecue on a summers' day.
