"All-around" means considering all aspects, or to be skilled in various abilities, or have many uses. You can use it to describe one's abilities in many areas or the experience of something overall! Here it refers to one being skilled in various abilities and tasks, as the planes have to do multiple tasks in the competition with different skill sets. Ex: The camp was good all-around. I don't have any complaints. Ex: She's an all-around basketball player. She could play any position well, honestly.
