What does "G" for "5G" stand for?

When talking about cellular (cellphone) networks, the "G" in 2G/3G/4G/5G refers to generation. Of course, the higher the number, the newer and more advanced the technology is. Ex: I have an old cellphone that runs on 3G. It takes forever to go on the Internet. Ex: Many conspiracists believe that 5G causes autism in people, but this is untrue.
