"Irritate" means to annoy someone or make them a little angry. Ex: After a while her behaviour really began to irritate me. It can also mean to make a part of your body sore or painful. Ex: At first my contact lenses irritated my eyes. Ex: Sprays and polishes can irritate dry, sensitive skin.
