What's the main difference between "spirit" and "soul" in English?

Good question! From what I understand, "soul" is more "human" than "spirit". It is related to our minds and ways of being, whereas "spirit" is more linked to the spiritual world and beliefs. In the context of Pocahontas, she's saying that trees and rocks have "spirits", but I wouldn't be sure if they had a "soul", as this is more tied to human connection and feeling. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if animals had "souls". Ex: This music is good for the soul. Ex: There's an evil spirit in the forest. Be careful. Ex: Do you believe in soul mates? People who are meant for each other.
