Can I say "known for" instead of "known as" here?

"[Also] known as" is another way of introducing another name/way of calling something. For example, Ex: Her name is Mrs. Smith, also known as my mom. Ex: This is a rose, also known as the most romantic flower. "Known for" means something completely different. It means "famous/recognized for," and you can use this expression to refer to something or someone that is familiar to/recognized by a lot of people. Ex: Picasso is known for his wonderful, colorful paintings. Ex: I want to be known for being kind and compassionate.
