What's the meaning of the word "customary"? And why would Wile E. Coyote say this?

The word "customary" means usual practices or actions that take place with certain events, circumstances, or cultures and societies. Within the context, Wild E. Coyote says this because he wants to eat Bugs Bunny, and before he does that, he lets him say his prayers for a couple of minutes. This is an old custom or practice where before someone dies, or they get killed, or something happens- they may have a moment to say a prayer or a few last words. You hear this in movies when someone says "any last words?!" before they kill someone. Ex: I saw the car coming so I said a prayer, but then we got out the way in time. Ex: Say your prayers, Clark. You may not wake up in the morning. Ex: Any last words, Superman?! Ex: It's customary to bring a gift to the wedding.
