"Context" can be the situational clues that allow you to understand or interpret a situation. They can be verbal, visual, or auditory. For example, hearing a large amount of applause provides the context that someone has given a speech or performance. Even if things aren't stated explicitly, you can use context to understand what's going on. Ex: Why is everyone laughing? Can someone give me context? Ex: I joined the meeting late, so I had no context when I joined the conversation.
