By "wandering hands", he means that his hands are finding something to hold onto after losing a relationship and a sense of self or identity. He has no sense of direction and doesn't have anything left to hold onto but the drink or alcohol in his hands. The "drink" in his hands could have caused some of his problems, since he "blames" the drink in his hands. Ex: I like to travel! I have wandering feet. They can't be in one place for a long time. Ex: My mind wanders, and then I have to tell myself to focus again.
