"Off set" means off and out of the movie set! So, where they usually film the movies, Benedict wears his Doctor Strange costume off set and out in public. As a compound word, "offset" means to create balance of one influence against another. Ex: The yellow walls really offset all the purple decor. Ex: We met Benedict Cumberbatch off set! He was getting coffee.
