What does "run [something] down" mean?

To "run [something] down" has a couple of meanings! It can mean to discover something or someone after a search or to criticize yourself or someone unfairly. Here though, "running" means to pass through, and "down the line" refers to later on, or after something. So "passing through time until another point in time." Ex: Down the line, we might have to open another branch. Ex: Stop running yourself down. You're doing fine.
