"In fact" is an idiom that can be used to emphasize an unexpected point. It can be used at the beginning, middle, or end of a sentence. A synonym to "in fact" is "actually". Ex: I'm not bad at cooking. In fact, I am an amazing cook. Ex: My brother is in fact good at sports. Ex: My trip wasn't fun, it was horrible in fact.
