As a school assignment, what's the main difference between "homework" and a "project?"

"Homework" is work that you do at home. A "project" is usually an assignment that requires a bit more planning than usual, either individually or in a group. A "project" could be a part of "homework." Ex: For homework this week, I expect you to work on your environment project. Ex: Our project is to write down our goals, make a presentation with a poster, and then present it to the class.
