Here, "resist it" means she couldn't keep away from the temptation of the situation. "It" being the situation, which, here, is her being in love with Sherlock and staying around him longer. Ex: I can't resist having another slice of cake. It's so good. Ex: She has to resist the temptation of quitting her job to travel the world if she wants to save money.
