"Creature" is a very broad word that encompasses many things. A "creature" can be an animal, a person, or even a magical or imaginary being such as a unicorn, mermaid, goblin, or fairy. Ex: What a stunning creature! I have never seen such a beautiful woman. Ex: Foxes are considered one of the most cunning creatures to roam the earth. Ex: The creatures in the hill watch over the village at night. "Animal" is more of a specified word that only encompasses a small portion of things. An "animal" is a living being that exists in the real world. Ex: His favorite animal is a platypus. Ex: Orcas are some of the most intelligent animals on the planet. Ex: Robert and Bindi Irwin work with many animals at the Australia Zoo.
