A telescope is an optical instrument used to view objects in the far distance, such as stars and constellations in the night sky. They only have one eye piece. Binoculars have two eye pieces and are used for the same purpose as telescopes, but the degree of magnification is much, much smaller. These are usually used for activities like outdoor sightseeing, bird watching, sports games, and so on. Ex: We got really poor seats for the baseball game, so I had to use my binoculars to see at all. Ex: I enjoyed looking at the stars with my telescope as a child.
