student asking question

Why would he say "jelly arm"? Is it because his arms are too tender and not muscular? And is it a common expression?

Good question. You might sometimes hear the informal expression "my arms/legs feel like jelly," and this refers to the weak, wobbly feeling you get in your limbs after strenuous physical activity or exercise. It kind of looks similar to the way that jelly might wobble on a plate! You can see in the video that the bear's arms are wobbly and weak as he struggles to pull himself up onto the ledge, which is why he chants "no jelly arms" to push himself to exert more strength in his arms. Ex: Wow, what a workout. My arms and legs feel like jelly. Ex: I don't exercise often, so my whole body feels like jelly after every gym session.
