The word "floor" has a germanic origin, and "floor" means the surface of a room on which one walks. From my understanding, "floor" indicates a floor or level of a building since there are many "floors" in a multi-level building. Ex: Go to the top floor, and you'll find Sarah in room 701 Ex: What floor are we going to?
