A commentary is long and detailed, and it usually includes one's opinions, interpretations, or describes an event. A commentary can also be a series or list of comments on something. Ex: I was reading someone's commentary on the film. I really liked their interpretation. Ex: Someone commented on my glasses last night and said they were nice. Ex: The company released a comment saying that they are investigating the scandal.
