A "reliance on [something]" means to be dependent on something. A person, group, or something can depend on something or someone else for aid or support. So you can use it when maybe you depend on people to do something or for something. Such as relying on someone for financial aid to study, on your medications to keep you healthy, and so on! Ex: I'm reliant on my alarm to wake me up in the morning. Ex: My reliance on coffee to stay awake is getting really bad. I drink too much coffee. Ex: Her reliance on him is unhealthy. They should break up.
