Yes! Following the death of Julius Caesar, his nephew eventually became the first Emperor of Rome, and the name Caesar started to be used as a title. Other cultures that bordered the Roman Empire, especially the Gauls and Germans who had experiences with Julius Caesar when he was alive, saw the name as something that carried a lot of prestige and started using it as a title for their rulers as well. More than 30 languages have some form of the name "Caesar" as a title for kings or emperors. Fun fact: The original way that the name "Caesar" was pronounced in Latin is actually closest to the Germanic word "Kaiser".
