"Go" is a verb commonly used with "bankrupt." To "go bankrupt" means to be unable to pay one's debt! Ex: The franchise went bankrupt a few years ago. Ex: Hopefully, we won't go bankrupt with the stock markets crashing. Ex: They're bankrupt.
