A "brick-and-mortar shop" is an expression that means a common, traditional shop that you go to in-person to purchase things. Ex: I hate going to brick-and-mortar shops. I do all my shopping online. Ex: With Amazon and other online retail stores, brick-and-mortar shops are becoming a thing of the past.
